Feb 03 2010 Blue Planet Environmental (Frankfurt Exchange, Stock Symbol 9BP) is pleased to announce that Dr. Peter Appleton, effective February 1, 2010, has joined Blue Planet Environmental Inc. as the Director of Agriculture and Agribusiness. Dr. Appleton brings to Blue Planet 25 years of experience with national governments, international institutions, and the private sector. Dr. Appleton has acted as Mission Leader, Project Director or Manager for over 80 projects for clients including: the World Bank, Asia Development Bank, IFAD, African Development Bank, UNDP, and the Inter-American Development Bank. Dr. Appleton is the Founding Director of the Standing Commission on North American Prosperity which has Presidents Vincente Fox and G. W. Bush, and Prime Minister Jean Chretien as Board Members; President of the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, South East Chapter; BI National Board Member of the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C.; and Associate Professor of Finance and Agribusiness at Mount Olive College in North Carolina. Dr. Appleton will develop and assist in implementing agriculture-based projects utilizing Blue Planet’s proprietary gas infusion technology and products to reduce water usage: · An odour and waste reduction program for use on hog farms. A test program in North Carolina is scheduled to begin by the end of February and run for 3-4 months. · An oxygen infusion system for greenhouse growers in Mexico designed to increase greenhouse crop yields and the number of crop cycles while reducing water usage. This 3 to 6 month project is scheduled to begin in March of 2010. · A gas infusion system for an irrigation project in Moldova funded ( $100 million USD) through the Moldova-North Carolina Partnership for Economic Development in Rural Areas. This project is expected to begin in the summer/fall of 2010.
